Equality and equity? In spite of an unquestioned etymological connection, these two concepts have known unstable relationships. Ancient equity used to transcends equality. Then, for a long time, judges used it to redress unfairness. Nowadays, it has turned into fairness, taking up an objective meaning through the convergence and the unity of concepts.
