Adapting Law to Technological Progress: the Example of Protecting Computer Programs
The aim of the recent EEC directive establishing copyright protection for computer programs is a balance between granting exclusive rights to the authors of computer programs and maintaining the free flow of ideas. Grant protection to the authors while taking into account the investment of financial resources: such is the intent of this EEC directive.
