Sébastien Bohler, What can psychology and neurosciences teach us about how the media shape public opinion: is there a need for a new regulation?
The author studies in the light of the most recent works how media is shaping public opinion by triggering primary emotions, in particular fear, which is all the more efficient because media are playing on the cognitive weaknesses of individuals. He also considers new regulations, notably concerning opinion polls and advertising.
