Jean Gatty, An Odd Issue: the Remuneration of Corporate Executives
The article identifies four oddities in the seemingly uncontrolled evolution of the remuneration of corporate executives: a / there is a well-known and easy way to control these salaries but it is seldom used; b/ the reasons for this phenomenon remain unknown, and even little investigated; c/ the current organization of limited liability companies makes it difficult to control their managers d/ the current views on corporate governance seem to rule out a well known technique for controlling large organizations: balance and separation of powers.
