Francis Lamy, Producing Public Security
Using his experience as a préfet, the author considers the production of public order under three aspects: adaptation to local specificities; anticipation, including intelligence, crime prevention and more specifically organization of important events; law enforcement, in particular where demonstrations, riots and hostage-taking are concerned. He concludes by showing that the various authorities concerned organize themselves following the French pattern which protects freedoms under the supervision of the administrative courts.
