Françoise D. Roure, Nanosciences and Converging Technologies
The article proceeds in four steps: the first deals with the question of the economic measurement of nanometric productions, in a multi-disciplinary chain of sector and convergence, the field of study of meso-economy. The second refers to the origins of the mercantilist approach of economy and its consequences on political economy of advanced materials, processes and services in the field of nanotechnologies and advanced manufactured materials. The third stage will look for the supporting points on which political economy focuses its efforts to develop production and exchanges induced by nanosciences and techniques on the basis of two examples. The fourth and final stage examines the real barriers to economic development induced by nano-technologies, such as the conflicts of interest between actors on the issue of traceability, which have gradually been revealed in stakeholder dialogues.
