Lilian Richieri Hanania, Cultural Diversity and Precaution
The present contribution analyzes to what extent a precautionary approach allowing a balance between the interests of trade liberalization and the concerns of cultural diversity can be characterized in international law, in what forms and by which mechanisms. It examines the application of such an approach in international trade, highlighting the need for be cautious when articulating between “trade and culture”, as well as the way in which international culture law can legitimize and strengthen such an approach.
