Valérie Lasserre, The Effects Of The Principle Of Sustainable Development On Business
Corporate law has "environmentalized". Environmental protection is now an integral part of economic regulation. In order to understand what effects the principle of sustainable development have had on business and what environmental risk management methods are used by economic operators, it is necessary to distinguish between the "product" approach and the "holistic" approach. The "product" approach, i.e. the approach focused on the design and consumption of goods or services, was developed first. The "holistic" approach, which is more global, is intended to encompass all economic activity, from the production of goods and services to their distribution, financing or shipping.
Without claiming to be exhaustive, we present a number of measures covering a wide range of methods, types and areas: product safety, labeling and certification, social and environmental responsibility, the duty to inform, the duty of vigilance, and green financing (with green bonds).
