Marie-Julie Loyer-Lemercier, Emerging Risks of new Mobilities: the Autonomous Car
Until recently, the automobile was built on known principles of mechanics and thermodynamics. Today, it integrates digital technologies. Between the appeal of progress and the fears associated, the legislators have a key role to play concerning the coming revolution in the many fields where artificial intelligence is growing.
Especially in relation to autonomous vehicles, agreeing to entrust one’s security to an artificial intelligence is an essential, but delicate, step in the development process. This is why we can ask if the precautionary approach could be an efficient protection against the legitimate apprehensions linked to this innovation.
