Michaël Sebban, Particular and Universal in the thought of Rabbi Moche Haïm Luzzat
The connection of particular and universal, law and justice often turns around the issue of Israel, a particularism with a universal purpose. Through the thought of the Italian cabalist Rabbi Moche Haïm Luzzato the concepts allowing to think this connection are elaborated. Particular law and universal justice can be seen as two necessary and complementary poles of metaphysics. Metaphysics rid of the ambiguities influencing the Jewish question where globalization can be expressed as opening and not as subservience.
