Gérard Cornu, Law and aesthetic: an Introduction
In any work, interaction reigns between Aesthetic and Law. Each order plays a part in the work produced by the other. Law recognises, protects and, basically, qualifies the work of art. Aesthetic glorifies and valorise the juridical work, in form as well as in content and form. But what of beauty, justice ? Each is an order and each order is autonomous. A beautiful thing exists in itself. Something just is its own end. However there are many affinities in the rules each order states for itself, even in the art that coins them, and above all, in each one, in their joint quest for beauty and justice, an interior dream.
