Jean Gaudemet, Birth of a Juridical Notion. The Beginnings of "Obligatio" in the Law of Ancient Rome
An introduction tells about the silences of the East and the hesitations of Greece. For Rome the mysteries of ancient times are considered, as well as the upcoming of the notion of obligation and of the notion of "legal link". Vinculum iuris will run through the centuries.
